Whether you’re just getting started or seeking motivation to take the next steps, this workshop will cover practical information and connect you to additional resources.
This session will equip you to:
- Identify foundations who have previously invested in nonprofit projects similar to yours
- Update your organization's Candid profile on Guidestar so donors can learn about your work
- Learn best practices for researching and approaching funders to increase chances for success
- Appeal to the needs that potential funders want to address through your work
- Describe your organization's project using inputs, outcomes, and logic model components.

• Learn how to access additional grant-related training on fundraising plans, project budgets, and proposal writing, free through the library.
• Connect with other local change-makers, including learning about potential nonprofit partners or fiscal agents if your project or effort isn't part of a current 5013c.
What to expect:
- Handouts will be emailed to everyone registered in advance of the workshop for your convenience, as well as provided to in person attendees.
- This workshop features Foundation Directory and Candid resources, followed by Q&A conversation about local nonprofit strategies and challenges.

About the branch
Our mission is sparking curiosity and connecting our community through literacy and learning. The library features the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery, the Millennium Café, Chandler Booktique (bookstore and gift shop), free meeting rooms, computer training and free Wi-Fi access. The library has a collection of more than 414,000 books and serves more than 81,000 registered borrowers. Bookmobiles make 23 stops Monday-Saturday across Shawnee County. The website tscpl.org serves customers’ needs 24/7. The library offers state-of-the art technology, youth programs that encourage learning and reading, adult learning programs, online learning tools, events, and reference and research tools.
