Historians Deborah Dandridge and Valerie Mendoza, and Shelbie Konkel, Chief of Staff for Lt. Gov. Rogers will discuss the women's suffrage movement and the experiences of women of color.
Consider where we've been, where we are, and where we're going as women in society. This event will be intersectional and represent many points of view. Inspired by the exhibit that examines how the women's suffrage movement failed in regards to equal treatment, this panel will look at the experiences of women of color. Discussion will include strategies for how to avoid the mistakes of the past as women organize and move forward. Introduction by the League of Women Voters of Topeka and Shawnee County.
