One of our resident sports enthusiast's will share some of his favorite nonfiction books about Olympians and the Olympics. Dave will also talk about our local connections to the Olympics.
Featured titles include: The Boys in the Boat, by Daniel Brown, Rome 1960: The Olympics that Changed the World, by David Maraniss and The Inaugural Ballers : the True Story of the First U.S. Women's Olympic Basketball Team, by Andrew Maraniss. Dave will also briefly introduce several people in the Shawnee County Sports Halls of Fame who are former Olympic athletes. The Olympics is a testament to the human ability to push the boundaries of physical and mental potential.
