Select short stories by Eudora Welty
We will focus on discussing the three stories available in the audio recording of Eudora Welty reading them, and other stories in the collection A Curtain of Green.
In this audiobook story collection on Hoopla, Eudora Welty reads some of her finest stories in her sweetly vibrant Mississippi drawl.
Hoopla has Welty's collection "A Curtain of Green" as an ebook.
The Collected Stories of Eudora Welty won the National Book Award and the first section of the book is "A Curtain of Green and other stories" which includes these three stories.
The library also has quite a few books by or about Eudora Welty.
Eudora Welty (1909–2001) was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and attended the Mississippi State College for Women, the University of Wisconsin, and Columbia University (where she studied advertising). In addition to short fiction, Welty wrote novels, novellas, essays, and reviews, and was the winner of both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize.
